AI is changing how software gets built. But pilots, operators, and airfields don’t need more software. They need better software. Reliable, purposeful, built to a standard worth trusting and providing value.

InnovateGA is a coalition of small developers building the software and products that General Aviation runs on. We’re joining forces to commit publicly to a shared set of values, hold each other to account, and make sure the GA community gets tools that are genuinely fit for purpose.

A Manifesto for General Aviation

We are pilots, airfield operators, and developers. We fly, we operate, we solve our own problems, and we share what we learn.

Our Principles

Support the GA community. Between rising costs and airfield closures the general aviation community is at risk. Our core principle is to use our tools and communities to promote and support GA where possible.

Use what we build. Every one of us flies, operates, or manages something in GA. We are building these products as tools we use every day and solutions to problems we have experienced.

Half, not half-arsed. Many companies try to build Swiss Army knife solutions that pack every feature into an interface that is overcomplicated and badly designed. The companies within InnovateGA have a goal to build useful tools that are simple to use. We would rather do fewer things properly rather than everything poorly.

Earn trust through quality. Pilots and airfield operators rely on what we build, sometimes at the margins of safety. We peer-review each other's work and hold ourselves to standards we'd trust from the cockpit.

Respect people's wallets. GA is expensive enough. Whether free or paid, our tools earn their place by saving time, reducing friction, or making something measurably better.

Make compliance effortless. Check NOTAMs, book PPR, stay current, keep records straight. When the right thing to do is also the easy thing to do, everyone flies safer.

Welcome everyone through the gate. Students, lapsed pilots coming back, families visiting an airfield for the first time, airfield owners trying something new. If GA is going to thrive, it needs to feel like it wants you here.

Connect by passion. Our coalition is connected by a passion for aviation. Whilst some of us may have products that overlap, we aspire to share knowledge, integrate our products where valuable, and showcase solutions that are valuable to others. The ecosystem works better when it works together.
